<p>A closure comprising at least one elongate portion which is resiliently compressible lengthwise and sufficiently flexible to be able to bow - if not otherwise constrained - width-wise means securing the resiliently compressible portion, in use, along one of two opposite edges of an aperture means for compressing the resiliently compressible portion and for retaining it in a compressed state and means for releasing the compressed resiliently compressible portion without wholly constraining its freedom to move width- wise, the arrangement being such that when the resiliently compressible portion is secured along the said one edge of the aperture and is compressed, it brings that one edge towards and against the other edge to close the aperture; and when the resiliently compressible portion is subsequently released, the release of its stored energy causes it to bow automatically, taking the said one edge of the aperture with it and so opening the aperture by separating its two edges.</p> |
