<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain a door in the process of closing from coming into contact with an occupant near the door in a door opening and closing control system for a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: When an occupant carrying a transmitter 2 presses a slide door opening switch, a door opening signal (d) is transmitted from a transmit antenna 24. When the door opening signal (d) from the transmit antenna 24 is received by a receiving antenna 32, the slide door is controlled to fully open. On the other hand, when the occupant carrying the transmitter 2 presses a slide door closing switch, an infrared ray (i) is emitted from a light emitting part 25. When the emitted light from the light emitting part 25 reaches a reflector, the emitted light is reflected by the reflector.
