PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound more useful for a medicine, useful for prevention and medication of hyperlipidemia through activities of lowering cholesterol-level and lowering triglyceride-level by inhibitory activities to enzymes for synthesizing squalene, that is, a benzoxazepine compound useful for prevention and medication of hyperlipidemia having activities of lowering cholesterol-level and lowering triglyceride-level. SOLUTION: A lipid-lowering medicine or composition comprises a compound or a salt thereof represented by formula (I), wherein R is a lower alkyl group optionally substituted with a hydroxyl group; X is an optionally substituted carbamoyl group or an optionally substituted heterocyclic group having a deprotonatable hydrogen atom; R<SB>1</SB>is a lower alkyl group; and W is a halogen atom.
