PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeding device capable of surely preventing document breakage and securing sheet discharge alignment property; to provide the control method of the sheet feeding device; and to provide a program. SOLUTION: A document reader 100 is equipped with sensors S3-1, S3-2 for detecting the inclined amount of a fed document F; a feeding motor 10 which is a driving source for feeding roller pairs 24, 25; and a discharging motor 28 which is a driving source for discharge roller pairs 26, 27. The inclined amount of the document F is detected with a document sensor 3, and relation between the feeding speed of the document F with feeding roller pairs 24, 25 and the feeding speed of the document F with the discharge roller pairs 26, 27 is controlled according to the detected inclined amount.
