PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emergency call device for an elevator capable of certainly relaxing anxiety of a passenger when the passenger cannot normally make a telephone call with an external operator. SOLUTION: A monitoring center control means 20 obtains message code 22a, i.e., sporadic information from a monitoring center memory means 22 according to an operation signal from an operation device 17 by operation of the operator, and transmits the message code 22a to an interphone control means 11. The interphone control means 11 obtains the corresponding circumstance message corresponding to the message code 22a from the monitoring center control means 22 from an interphone memory means 13 and informs the corresponding circumstance message from an interphone call means 5 when the call state incapable of making a telephone call is detected.
