An apparatus and a method for call history management in a portable terminal are provided to give convenience to users and increase the utilization of portable terminals by providing a meeting information editing function so as to conveniently get in touch with members for a meeting and to manage a history for meeting attendance status. An apparatus for call history management in a portable terminal comprises a control part(101) and a memory(111). If the user makes a request for the registration of meeting information, the control part(101) enters into meeting information registration mode and registers meeting information, such as a meeting name, a meeting place, meeting time, and attendant names, through a key input part(105). The memory(111) stores the registered meeting information. After registering the meeting information, the control part(101) edits meeting attendance status and contact results in meeting call history editing mode.
