PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide techniques capable of relaxing the phenomenon where a color in the vicinity of a specific chromatic color within an image gets out of desired colors as a result of color balance adjustment processing. SOLUTION: If the average value of the hue values of high-luminance pixels is out of the range of a predetermined color close to a specific color (for example, the Japanese skin color), a color balance correction value is calculated using the average pixel value of the specific color pixels. In this case, together with the average pixel value, the specific color pixel proportion can be used. On the other hand, if the average value of the hue values of the high-luminance pixels is in the range of the predetermined color (for example, the Japanese skin color), not using the average pixel value of the specific color pixels, the average pixel value of the high-luminance pixels is used to calculate the color balance correction value.
