PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reactor which is excellent in heat radiation characteristics, and to provide a power converting device which incorporates it. SOLUTION: A reactor 1 comprises a coil 11 which is applied with a current to generate magnetic flux, a core 12 made of a magnetic powder containing resin packed on the inside and outer periphery of the coil 11, a case 13 which houses the coil 11 and the core 12 inside it, and a cooling pipe 14 (cooling member) which is contacted to the core 12. In the power converting device comprising a semiconductor module, a cooling device, and the reactor 1, a part of the cooling device is arranged to contact the core 12 of the reactor 1.
