The steam generator (1) has a combustion chamber with a funnel side walls (6) at the bottom, and a surrounding wall (4) formed from steam generator tubes (12). These tubes are arranged in the lower sector forming a funnel side walls so that they are heated as uniformly as possible. Some of the tubes in the funnel side wall region are of a different diameter to those in the surrounding wall.
