Use of a composition (I) comprising pentane-1,5-diol to reduce and/or eliminate odor from a mammal, such as odor from urine, menstruation, faeces, liquids from leg ulcers, decubital ulcers, blood and perspiration. Independent claims are included for: (1) an absorption product comprising (I); and (2) a method for manufacturing an absorption product, comprising: providing an absorption product; and applying (I).
