Multifunction peripheral device, method and computer readable medium encoded with a software program for communicating between the multifunction peripheral device and an external computer over a network. The multifunction peripheral device comprises a user interface to display user interface controls to the user and to allow the user to select amongst the user interface controls. The multifunction peripheral device also comprises an internal computer coupled to the user interface, the internal computer programmed to operate the multifunction peripheral device to perform functions associated with the user interface controls. The internal computer is also programmed to, subsequent to the user selecting a service, communicate to the external computer via the network that the service has been selected, and to receive information associated with at least one user interface control from the external computer via the network. The internal computer is also programmed to update the user interface to display the at least one user interface control based on the received information. |
