PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reel and a recording tape cartridge which can prevent deformation of the hub at a low cost. SOLUTION: The hub 22 is formed by molding the primary molding section 114 while inserting a metal ring 110 into a metal die 118 by the primary molding, then molding the secondary molding section 116 by the secondary molding. The metal ring 110 does not deform since its outer surface is supported by the vertical wall 146A and the bottom 146B of the cavity 146 by the primary molding and its inner surface is supported by the secondary molding by the primary molding section 114 formed by the primary molding. Thus, the metal ring 110 inside the hub 22 can be prevented from deforming and high precision hub 22 can be obtained. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
