<p>The invention relates to an airdrying resin suitable for a coating composition characterized in that the resin is a polyesteramide prepared from:
A) at least one anhydride chosen from the list containing succinic, glutaric. citraconic, itaconic or maleic anhydride or a combination of any of them, and
B) at least one alkanol-amine, and
C) at least one fatty acid. This airdrying resin is both water- and solvent-soluble, having a combination of properties desirable for different types of applications. The invention relates also to a method for preparing such a polyesteramide resin, to a composition comprising at least one polyesteramide resin and a method for preparing such a composition, to a substrate fully or partially coated with this composition, a method for curing the coated substrate, the cured and coated substrate and the use of resin in various applications.</p> |
