POLYESTER/SILICA COMPOSITE, POLYESTER RESIN COMPOSITION COMPRISING THE SAME, AND METHOD FOR PREPARING THE SAME

A polyester/silica composite material, a method for preparing the polyester/silica composite material, and a polyester resin composition containing the polyester/silica composite material are provided to improve thermal stability, mechanical properties and melt viscosity. A polyester/silica composite material comprises a silica particle and a polyester resin which are bonded by a linking unit represented by silica-O-[CONH-R1-NHOC]-O-polyester, wherein R1 is a C1-C20 alkylene group, a C6-C20 arylene group, a C3-C20 cycloalkylene group, or a C8-C20 arylalkylene group. Preferably the silica particle has a specific surface area of 50-500 m^2/g and an average diameter of 5-30 nm. A polyester resin composition comprises the polyester/silica composite material; and a polyester matrix resin.
