A both side coated steel for a can is provided to prevent a color brightness from being deteriorated on the outer surface of the can and to improve a retort resistance, a flavor of content and hygiene inside the can by coating the can through a drawing ironing processing. A both side coated steel for a can comprises an outer surface side and an inner surface side. The outer surface side is coated with a coating layer including polyester resin(A) having hydroxyl groups, a kind of cross linker(B) selected from the group consisting of amino resin and resol type phenol resin, and aluminum pigment(C1) having 50 to 60 part by weight of the polyester resin powder or white pigment(C2) having 60 to 140 part by weight of the polyester powder. The inner surface side is coated with a coating layer including crystalline polyester resin particles(D) having ethylene terephthalate, crystalline polyester resin particles(E) having butylene terephthalate and organic solvent(F).
