PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for regenerating a solid catalyst by which a titanium-containing silicon oxide catalyst is regenerated by bringing the titanium-containing silicon oxide catalyst into contact with a surfactant-containing basic aqueous solution, the method capable of being carried out at comparatively low temperature and providing the regenerated titanium-containing silicon oxide catalyst having very high catalytic activity. SOLUTION: The method for regenerating the solid catalyst includes the step of bringing the titanium-containing silicon oxide catalyst being the solid catalyst into contact with the surfactant-containing basic aqueous solution. The solid catalyst to be regenerated is the titanium-containing silicon oxide catalyst, namely, a crystalline or amorphous solid. TS-1, TS-2, titanium-beta and titanium-MWW are exemplified as the crystalline solid and titanium-MCM-41, titanium-SBA-15 and titanium-silica gel are exemplified as the amorphous solid.
