Method for moving and copying dependencies along with source code

A computer implemented method, apparatus, and computer usable program code for moving dependencies along with source code. A set of dependencies are identified for the source code in response to a user moving the source code from an origin project to a destination project. A determination is made whether a number of dependencies from the set of dependencies are present in the destination project. The number of dependencies are added to the destination project in response to the number of dependencies being absent in the destination project.
