PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knee protecting air bag system capable of smoothly opening a door part pushed by an air bag even if mounting an air bag cover having the integrated door part, to a knee panel arranged on the front side of the knees of a seated occupant. SOLUTION: This knee protecting air bag system S is provided with the knee panel 16 arranged on the front side of the knees K of the seated occupant M, and an air bag cover 30. The knee panel 16 is provided with a storage part 23 of bottomed box shape opened on the rear side of a vehicle, for storing the air bag 46 and an inflator 41. The air bag cover 30 is provided with a door part 39 pushed by the air bag 46 and opened rupturing a thin-walled rupture predetermined part 35 at the peripheral edge, and a general part 31 arranged around the door part 39 with a hinge part 37 interposed. Mounting pieces 33 mounted to the storage part 23 after passing through the knee panel 16 are disposed at a plurality of parts near the peripheral edge of a storage part opening 23a in the general part 31. |
