A backlight unit for an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to omit a complicated fluorescent material coating process in an existing fluorescent lamp forming process by including a lamp emitting only ultraviolet rays and at least one optical sheet including a fluorescent material, thereby improving process efficiency and preventing failure such as deterioration of brightness. A backlight unit for an LCD includes a reflective plate(125), a light guide plate(123), a lamp(129), and plural optical sheets(121). The light guide plate is set on the reflective plate. The lamp is disposed along a side of the light guide plate and emits ultraviolet rays. The optical sheets are set in the upper part of the light guide plate and include a fluorescent material. |
