GUIDE SHAFT LOCKING STRUCTURE FOR OPTICAL DISK DRIVE

A structure for fixing a guide shaft of an optical disc drive is provided to prevent damage to a joint due to an external shock in an optical disc drive manufacturing process. A structure for fixing guide shafts(108,108') of an optical disc drive comprises a joint(118) and a spacer(124). Both ends of the guide shaft are supported at an optical pickup base(102) to support an optical pickup(110) to be movable back and forth. The joint fixes the protruding portion of the guide shaft being installed at the optical base with a washer(120). The spacer is formed at one side of the optical pickup base integrally to fill the gap between the lower surface of the optical pickup base and the washer, which is formed at the opposite side of a portion contacted with the guide shaft and the washer as the joint is combined. The spacer is formed with height as much as the height of the protruding portion of the guide shaft. A guide shaft groove is formed integrally on the optical pickup base, so that an end of the guide shaft is placed on it.
