PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color converting apparatus capable of highly precisely reproducing even an image printed by a multi-color printer, and to provide a color converting program. SOLUTION: The color converting apparatus for converting input image data into output image data for output device in order to reproduce a target image outputted from a target device by the output deviceb is provided with: a first conversion unit for converting the input image data into device-independent common image data defining colors in a common color space; a mapping unit for converting the common image data into mapping image data by converting colors represented by the common image data converted by the first conversion unit into colors within a color reproduction region of the target device on the common color space; and a second conversion unit for converting the mapping image data converted by the mapping unit into output image data.
