PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit use of peripheral equipment only when expected appropriate peripheral equipment is connected or when an information processor is in a specific state where connection of peripheral equipment is expected. SOLUTION: An electronic cash register including a USB host controller 63 and a USB port 21 of USB standard for connecting a USB device 31, which recognizes the USB device 31 by inserting the USB device 31 to the USB port 21 and sets a data transmittable state so that the USB device 31 is usable, comprises a switch circuit 65 which permits use of the USB device 31 only when the USB device 31 is a specific one or when the electronic cash register is in a maintenance state.
