PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of driving a plasma display apparatus capable of reducing brightness difference generated between electrode lines while a plasma display panel is driving, driving a plasma display panel with low cost, and embodying stable sustain discharge when a plasma display panel is driven. SOLUTION: The driving method for the plasma display apparatus is provided. In the method, one subfield is divided to at least an address period and a sustain period. A first pulse is applied to a first electrode in a positive direction and a second pulse is applied to the first electrode in a negative direction alternately during the sustain period. A predetermined bias voltage is applied to the second electrode during the sustain period. Then, a rising period of the first pulse in the positive direction is made shorter than a rising period of the second pulse in the negative direction. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
