An aqueous secondary copolymer dispersion is provided to form aqueous (2K) polyurethane vanishes having rapid drying and improved blocking resistance and retaining the effective wood grain attenuation at the same time. An aqueous secondary copolymer dispersion includes a copolymer(P) synthesized from a mixture of free-radically polymerizable monomers(M) comprising (M1) cycloaliphatic esters of acrylic acid and/or methacrylic acid and (M2) vinyl esters of aliphatic carboxylic acid. The copolymer(P) has an OH number of 35-200 mgKOH/g solids and an acid number of 10-50 mgKOH/g solids. The (M2) is a vinyl ester of branched aliphatic carboxylic acid represented by the following formula 1, wherein R^1 and R^2 together are saturated alkyl groups having 6, 7, or 8 carbon atoms.
