<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of improving its productivity and reducing its production cost. <P>SOLUTION: The display device is quipped with a light source 22 including a light emitting diode element 24 and a package 25 on which the light emitting diode element 24 is mounted, and a rear side polarizing plate 13 on which light rays from the light source 22 are made incident. The package 25 has an outward appearance with which a polarization direction of light emitted from the light emitting diode element 24 is visually distinguished. The direction of mounting of the light source 22 to be mounted on a substrate 21 is adjusted based on the outward appearance of the package 25 in such a way that the polarization direction of the light emitted from the light emitting diode element 24 and a direction of a transmission axis of the rear side polarizing plate 13 coincide with each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
