PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an oral cavity care composition for topical, oral administration in a human or other animal. SOLUTION: The chewable solid unit dosage form of non-cariogenic oral care dentifrice composition for topical, oral administration in a human or other animal comprising: a. from about 30% to about 65%, by weight of a first portion consisting of a water-in soluble particle-holding agent having a water solubility of <1 g/30 g at 25°C; b. a second portion which forms viscous slurry for brushing teeth, when the composition is preliminarily chewed. The method for providing the continuous delivery of a flavoring agent, a sensory agent or a buffering agent to the oral cavity of a testee needing the delivery comprises using an oral care dentifrice composition that visually appears on more surfaces that two or three surfaces of molars/premolars to seven surfaces of molars/premolars, also after chewing two tablets of the composition for 5 to 30 seconds, brushing teeth for 30 seconds, spewing the slurry produced by the brushing, rinsing the mouth with 10 mL of water, and then again spewing.
