PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a heat ray sensor from the outside while hiding it when no heat ray from a human body is sensed. SOLUTION: This automatic switch 4 with the heat ray sensor is installed by being embedded in the wall of a building with an apparatus body 5 containing a cover 51 having a plurality of mounting pawls 512 for engagement held by a mounting frame 8 to make a wiring apparatus to be embedded mountable. The automatic switch 4 with the heat ray sensor is equipped with a sensor module 6. The sensor module 6 is equipped with the heat ray sensor 60 to detect heat ray from the human body, a sensor module body 62 having the heat ray sensor 60 built-in, and a sensor module cover 63. A detection window 635 to detect the heat ray of the heat ray sensor 60 from the outside is formed in the sensor module cover 63. The sensor module 6 is mounted in a recessed part 513 so that it can freely rotate around an axis with the direction parallel with the open face of the recessed part 513 formed in the front of the cover 51 of the apparatus body 5 as the axis, and thereby the detection window 635 frequently appears in the recessed part 513.
