<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic musical instrument system which is easily customized or is extended in a scalable way by connecting a plurality of arbitrary musical devices, thereby constituting user's favorite musical instrument. <P>SOLUTION: The system functions as one musical instrument by connecting a plurality of musical devices EMa to EMf with extendable communication connection means such as USB networks CB and UH. Each of musical devices EMa to EMf holds corresponding device information, and in a host musical device EMa, there are prepared a plurality of pieces of route rule information for specifying a music data transfer route between the musical devices in accordance with a plurality of device connection states attainable in the USB network.
