The present invention provides methods of aiding in a disease diagnosis or prognosis. The methods include capturing antibodies in samples derived from subjects on probes with antigens that are indicative of particular diseases. The methods also include detecting the captured antibodies by at least one version of surface enhanced laser desorption/ionization gas phase ion spectrometry. The invention further provides probes and kits for performing the methods of the invention.
