Low energy ventilation system

A ventilation system comprises drawing in external air from outside a room and drawing in air from the interior of the room, mixing the exterior air and interior air in a mixing zone and supplying the mixed air to the room. The mixed air may be further heated or cooled by water passing through pipes before passing into the room. The water may be derived from a solar collector, a ground source/geothermal heat system, or a mechanical or electrical heating system. The system may operate with or without (fig 2) the use of low power fans for supplying or exhausting the air that may be driven by a wind vane (fig 3) and dampers for controlling the flow of air from the exterior and into the room may be provided. An outflow stack also having a damper exhausting air from the room may be provided. A carbon dioxide sensor located in the room may be used in combination with the dampers or the speed of the fans to control the flow of air into and out of the room. A plurality of the ventilation systems may be used for the room or a building supplying different volumes of external air.
