An apparatus and a method for setting a web-browser of a terminal equipped with a smart card are provided to store the setting data of the web-browser of the portable terminal in a smart card. An apparatus for storing setting data of a browser includes a SIM card(104), a SIM card searching part(102), and a controller(100). The SIM card(104) includes a file containing the setting data of the browser in a browser unit. The SIM card searching part(102) searches for the file of the SIM card(104). The controller searches the file through the SIM card searching part(102) and stores the setting data in the file after the setting of the browser is determined. The file is used to store the setting data of the browser such that the setting data is identically applied to another portable terminal.
