In an image display device using phosphors having light persistence time, a blur of a moving image due to the light persistence time of phosphors is subjected to reduction, and, incidentally, a color shift in the blur of the moving image due to difference in the light persistence time of each phosphor is also subjected to improvement as a problem to be solved. An image display device (1) is provided with a movement detecting unit (2) for seeking moving information of a moving region, a speed, a direction, a matching error, etc. from an input image signal, a correction signal calculating unit (3) for calculating a correction signal to correct the moving blur of the input image signal due to the light persistence, and a correcting unit (4) for correcting the input image signal in accordance with this correcting signal.
