The burner has a constant oil volume flow conveying oil pump (1) provided in a burner-internal oil circuit with an oil supply pipe (2), oil-return pipe (3), magnetic valve (5), diffuser nozzle and an oil preheater (6.1) before the diffuser nozzle. A measuring device (7), which determines oil viscosity and an additional oil preheater (6.2) are arranged in the burner-internal oil circuit such that the magnetic valve releases passing of an oil flow in a direction of the diffuser nozzle only when a preset oil viscosity threshold value is obtained.
