PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the performance deterioration of a positive management computer and a main host computer due to the influence of initial copy. SOLUTION: This computer system is provided with: a management computer connected to a host computer; a first main storage system and a second main storage system; a first sub-storage system and a second sub-storage system; a main external storage system connected to the first main storage system and the second main storage system; and a sub-external storage system connected to the first sub-storage system and the second sub-storage system. The management computer controls the start of copy as processing for storing the copy of data on the second storage area in the fourth storage area in response to an instruction to start processing for storing the copy of the data on the first storage area in the third storage area.
