<p>An apparatus for cooling a compressor of a window-type air conditioner is provided to prevent a performance deterioration of a compressor by diffusing cool air via a cool air communication hole for cooling the compressor. An apparatus for cooling a compressor of a window-type air conditioner comprises a case(31), a condenser(38), a compressor(39), an evaporator(37), a cool air communication hole(45), a diffuser(46), a flap(47), and a stepping motor(48). The case is provided with a separation plate(32) dividing an indoor side space(33) and an outdoor side space(34) inside the case. The condenser and compressor are disposed on the outdoor side space. The evaporator is disposed on the indoor side space. The cool air communication hole is contoured on the separation plate to provide heat-exchanged cool air from the evaporator to the compressor. The diffuser is provided on an outer periphery of the cool air communication hole, and being enlarged towards the compressor. The flap is provided on the cool air communication hole to control the direction and volume of the cool air supplied to the compressor. The stepping motor is provided on a side of the flap for rotating it.</p> |
