METHOD FOR CONVERTING MULTIBYTE CODE STREAM TO UNICODE STREAM WITHIN DIGITAL IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS

A method for converting a multi-byte code stream to a unicode stream in a digital image processing apparatus is provided to convert the multi-byte code stream into a unicode stream while minimizing access to RAM(Random Access Memory) in order to reproduce a text file generated by a multi-byte code the digital image processing apparatus. A method for converting a multi-byte code stream to a unicode stream in a digital image processing apparatus comprises the following steps of: pre-storing whether each unit byte of the multi-byte code stream is used or the determination data of the number of bytes; pre-storing data for conversion into a 1-byte code; pre-storing data for conversion into a 2-byte code; determining whether a code of each unit byte of the multi-byte code stream is available(S503); determining whether the code of the each unit byte is the 1-byte code or the 2-byte code if the code of the each unit byte is available(S505); obtaining a unicode according to the data for conversion into the 1-byte code if the code of the each unit byte is the 1-byte code(S511); and obtaining a unicode according to the data for conversion into the 2-byte code if the code of the each unit byte is the 2-byte code(S509).
