PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planting method planting garden trees in an existing paved area while facilitating plantation and at the same time penetrating rainwater into a plantation hole and preventing inflow of mud, and as a result, easily greening an innocuous public paved space, and creating not only a fine sight but also space considering health. SOLUTION: This planting method comprises making a plantation hole 5 having a diameter of an extent suitable for a size of a garden tree 4 to be planted, on an existing paved surface of asphalt, laying a mat 1 equivalent to the size of the plantation hole 5 wholly on the plantation hole 5, setting directing the center of the mat 1, a key-like incision 10 or a plantation hole 3 a little smaller than the diameter of the garden tree, and tightly inserting the trunk of the garden tree 4 into the incision 10 or the plantation hole 3.
