PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To notify a user of states of a bathtub such as a water temperature and a water depth, and the change of the states without using an exclusive appliance and a software for monitoring the bathtub, in a bathtub monitoring system and a bathtub monitoring device. SOLUTION: This bathtub monitoring device is functioned as a device and a contents directory based on UPnPAV specification, and a TV is functioned as a control point. The TV 5 transmits a request for a list of bathtub states detected by a sensor portion to the bathtub monitoring device 3 (S3). When the user selects acquisition of the state of water temperature from the list acquired in S4 by operating an operating portion of the TV 5, the TV 5 transmits HTTP-GET request for requiring image contents based on the state of water temperature in the bathtub to the bathtub monitoring device 3 (S5). A sensor control portion receiving the request, acquires the image contents corresponding to the request from the TV 5 from HDD, and transmits the acquired image contents to the TV 5 (S6).
