PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper folding machine capable of folding a paper into a predetermined form such as folding into four or folding into eight for the purpose of bookbinding and improving a driving mechanism of a balance in a roll part for adjusting an interval for each roll for folding paper. SOLUTION: The driving mechanism of the balance in the roll part for controlling turn of a balance 3 for adjusting roll for adjusting a clearance of a movable side roll 1 in a paper folding roll arranging mechanism part C by connecting it with a force point side end part is constituted in such a way that a screw mechanism formed so as to move vertically while rotating is connected with a terminal of a rod 10 for operating balance bringing its tip into contact with the force point side end part of the balance 3 to transmit torque of a pulse motor 6 provided non-coaxially and separately from the screw mechanism as driving force for rotating the screw mechanism.
