<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently perform further detailed trail management by transmitting received print job log data and discharge log data to a log server. <P>SOLUTION: In the trail management system, a certificate server 10 extracts certificate data satisfying a condition from a certificate DB, and forms and transmits a certificate file containing the date (handler code, certificate type, certificate serial number and certificate necessity management code used as print job log data) and print job-related data (certificate file formation date and certificate ID used as print job log data) to a client. The client 131 extracts the print job log data, and forms and transmits certificate print data based on the certificate file to a printer. The printer prints the received data to papers in page bases, confirms discharge completion of printed papers for each page, and transmits the certificate ID code, the page number, the IP address of the printer, the discharge completion receiving date, the certificate ID, the paper feed tray number and the paper type to the client as discharge logs.
