PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further thin the wall of a press pulley by improving the strength and fatigue strength of the press pulley by an inexpensive means. SOLUTION: Vicinity of surface parts of respective bent parts 5a and 5b connecting an erecting wall part 4 to an outer cylinder part 2 and an inner cylinder part 3 are subjected to a shot peening process (WPC (Wide Peening Cleaning) process) to harden the surface parts of the respective bent parts 5a and 5b and generate compressive residual stress on the surface parts. This constitution can improve the strength and the fatigue strength of the press pulley 1 by the inexpensive means to further thin the wall. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
