PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of the deterioration in image quality, such as image flow and voids by removing discharge products on a photoreceptor surface stably for a long period. SOLUTION: A cleaning apparatus 50 is provided with a cleaning blade 52 for removing the toner remaining after transfer on the surface of a photoreceptor drum 14. A toner holding section 60 is disposed nearer an upstream side in the rotating direction of the photoreceptor drum 14 than the cleaning blade 52. The toner holding section 60 is equipped with a sheet-like nonwoven fabric 62 made to abut on the photoreceptor drum 14, a pressing member 64 pressing the nonwoven fabric 62 to the photoreceptor drum 14, and a leaf spring 66 supporting one end on the upstream side of the nonwoven fabric 62 via a film-like member 68. The pressing member 64 is offcentered with a rotating shaft 64A and is equipped with an elastic section 64B on the periphery thereof. The pressing member 64 is rotated by a motor 70 according to temperature/humidity detected by a temperature/humidity sensor and the counted number of print sheets for each one job to change the pressing force of the pressing member 64 to the nonwoven fabric 62.
