PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To desirably cool the space where a clothes dryer is set by using a heat pump for drying clothes, and to appropriately use water for cooling the space without excessiveness or shortage in the quantity. SOLUTION: The operation of drying the clothes by circulating air in a drying chamber via an air path in which an evaporator and a condenser of the heat pump are disposed, or the operation of discharging air out of the air path from an air intake disposed in the air path via the evaporator can be selected in the clothes dryer. The clothes dryer includes a cooling device for cooling the condenser with water, and the quantity of cooling water is adjusted according to the load of radiation of the condenser.
