A composite system for separating and mixing fluids is provided to allow separation of water from a water-air mixture or separation of CO2 from a fluid mixture containing fuel in a fuel cell system, and to perform such separation or mixing in an energy- and space-efficient manner. A composite system for separating a liquid from a gas in a fluid mixture and for mixing fluids comprises: a casing(190) equipped with a first inlet(120) for the fluid mixture, a second inlet for an additional fluid mixture(121), an outlet(122) for a liquid mixture and another outlet(124) for a gaseous mixture, wherein the casing has a membrane linked thereto, the membrane having gas permeability and liquid impermeability and forming a three-dimensional surface structure by including a plurality of individual surfaces.
