PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily clean a pickup roller of a printer by utilizing a package material constituting a paper package set into a storage part of the printer to feed a printed medium. SOLUTION: When a cassette material 108 is set into the storage part 5 of the printer 1 and further a case cover 4 of the printer 1 is put in a closed state, a conveying direction upstream edge part of a tongue piece 8d of the cassette material 108 collides with a rubber portion 20a of the pickup roller 20 of the printer 1. At this time, if the pickup roller 20 of the printer 1 is rotated, the conveying direction upstream edge part of the tongue piece 8d of the cassette material 108 sequentially scrapes the periphery of the rubber portion 20a of the pickup roller 20 of the printer 1 to remove foreign matter stuck to the periphery of the rubber portion 20a of the pickup roller 20 of the printer 1.
