PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the preparation of paving work, and to easily almost uniformalize the amount of asphalt mixture in front of a screed throughout the width of the screed, which is adjusted depending on the width of a road to be paved. SOLUTION: A retaining plate 6, which regulates the scattering of the asphalt mixture, spread by a screw 4, to the front side of a machine body 1, comprises a fixed retaining plate 6c which is fixed to the machine body 1, and a pair of expansion retaining plates 6b and 6a which can be freely expanded/contracted on the right and left sides of the fixed retaining plate 6c. The pair of expansion plates 6b and 6a is supported on right and left spray bar covers 3B and 3A, respectively, and expanded/contracted along with the expansion/contraction operations of the right and left spray bar covers 3B and 3A and a pair of spray bars 3b and 3a.
