The device (10) has a x-ray radiator (20) that is movable in a level (E1), and a x-ray detector (21) that is movable in another level (E2) that is parallel to the level (E1), where an examining object (U) is arranged between the levels. Multiple two dimensional projections of the examining object in different projection directions relative to the examining object are detectable by the movement of the radiator and the detector and by the x-rays detected by the detector to determine the spatial representation of the examining object.
