PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile apparatus which easily performs a port transmission setting, and utilizes a DDNS system without needing a private router. SOLUTION: A global IP address of a router is to be acquired by periodically transmitting an IP address acquiring command in a WAN side relating to a private address of the router, and a stored global IP address is to be rewritten by an acquired address (step 301 to 303) when the acquired address is different from the stored IP address. On the other hand, determination whether a predetermined time period is passed is to be performed after updating address information relating to a DDN server at a previous time when the acquired address is the same, then if the predetermined time is elapsed or if rewrite of router information is terminated, a user ID and a password are to be transmitted to an address of the DDNS server. Then a registered command including a domain name of an IP-FAX is to be transmitted to the DDNS server if notification of authentication is received (step 304 to 307). COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
