A system for detecting an underground signal source and a detecting method thereof are provided to identify the position and the type of an unknown signal source breaking under or on the ground by collecting signals from a plurality of sensors. A system for detecting an underground signal source includes a signal detection unit(100), a signal collection unit(200), and a signal analysis unit(300). The signal detection unit is composed of at least one sensor or more. The signal collection unit allots individual channels to signals received from more than one sensor(101-105) of the signal detection unit and transmits the signals to the signal analysis unit by amplifying and transforming the signals to a predetermined protocol signal. The signal analysis unit computes the position of an unknown signal source or analyzes the type of the signal source using at least more than one signal channel received from the signal collection unit.
