The mattress (1) has a side with a couch area (10) and another side that serves as a bearing surface, where the couch area is surrounded by an edge region. Spring frames (8a) are assigned to the couch area for forming a recess (16) to accommodate a cushion (18). Spring frames (8a) have smaller height than the spring frames (8b) in the edge region. The cushion is struck together with front surfaces of the spring frames (8a) in the couch area. An independent claim is also included for a device for rolling a spring mattress to a mattress packing.
